Trade Deadline Approaching Fast
As tomorrow trade deadline is closing in we are hearing a lot more speculation on what moves teams are trying to make and most importantly what moves the Dodgers are trying to make. The latest reports I am hearing is that the dodgers are in on Hunter Pence from the Philadelphia Phillies. Pence is making 10.4 Million and would be under team control till 2014 being arbitration eligible in 2013. I have heard the Phillies would be asking for Zach Lee and Jerry Sands. Pence could shore up the hole in Left Field and be there until Yasiel Puig is ready to come up.
As far as other names that have been mentioned Justin Morneau seems to be out of the picture. The Twins are looking for young starting pitchers. The Dodgers just traded Nathan Eovaldi to Miami, though another pitcher that I believe could be ready is John Ely. The Dodgers and Cubs are still talking in regards to Ryan Dempster. The Cubs are trying to package him with Alfonso Soriano. It seems he has had his best years behind him, but Soriano is having a pretty decent year but a deal would include his contract and its still pretty hefty for a few more years.
Lets see what happens in the next day, I am sure a lot of movement remains to take place.
