Kevin Youkilis To Be Moved Soon
The rumors of Kevin Youkilis being moved have intensified over the last few days. According to reports it looks like the Los Angeles Dodgers are among the final teams trying to get their hands on the veteran and two-time World Series champion, according to various sources. Youkilis was told by Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine that he would be sitting more often in favor of rookie Will Middlebrooks. The Dodgers who have been struggling are looking for another bat and help at third base and or first base. Juan Uribe continues to struggle and Youkilis would figure to be an upgrade over Uribe. A trade is likely to happen sooner than later and the Dodgers seem to be pushing hard.
If the Dodgers fail to acquire Youkilis they have also been looking at the Houston Astros OF/1B Carlos lee. Ken Gurnick reports The veteran has the ability to block trades to 14 teams, and the Dodgers are on that list. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean that Lee doesn’t want to play in Los Angeles.
