Jimmy Rollins Possible Target For Dodgers?
The man they call “J-Roll” could be headed home to the west coast. The former MVP is rumored to be on the list of players the Dodgers have interest in. The Dodgers are in the market for hitting and pitching and have also lost shortstop Dee Gordon to a thumb injury. Rollins signed a three-year, $33 million contract in December with the Phillies. So if the Dodgers just took on the salary, that is something they could do. Rollins though has been a disappointment to the Phillies this year hitting .261 8HR 33 RBI’s, they were hoping he would have picked up more of the slack when Chase Utley and Ryan Howard were out. Other Phillies the Dodgers are looking at are Cole Hamels and Shane Victorino. It is not believed the Dodgers have enough prospects to land Hamels though. Other players the Dodgers are looking at Ryan Dempster and Matt Garza of the Cubs, Aramis Ramirez and Corey Hart of the Brewers, Josh Willingham of the Twins and Michael Cuddyer of the Rockies.
