Dodgers Trade Rumors
As the second half is set to get under way the trade rumors will become more intense. One name that has been associated with the Dodgers and many see them as the favorite to land him is Ryan Dempster. He recently came off the disabled list and has thrown 27 straight scoreless innings and will make his second start since returning from the disabled list Saturday. Jon Heyman from CBS Sports has also reported that the Dodgers would have interest in Matt Garza. Garza is not having a great year for the Cubs but interest in him seems to be heavy. The Cubs would be looking not necessarily for someone to unload contracts on but what young talent they could get back. That’s an area that right now the Dodgers are not rich in, and may hinder attempts at landing players at the trade deadline.
Other names that have been mentioned that the Dodgers might target are Aramis Ramirez (34) and Chase Headley (28). The Dodgers have a big need at third base and Headley is high on the list. Headley is younger and still under team control for a few more years. He would cost more in return than Ramirez, as the Dodgers would likely send a lower prospect and take on Ramirez’s salary.
