Carlos Lee Deciding If He Wants To Be A Dodger

Carlos Lee is deciding whether to accept a trade that will send him to the Dodgers. Yesterday it was reported that the Dodgers and Houston Astros a trade that would send Carlos Lee to Los Angeles. Lee seems like he would be an upgrade over James Loney and Juan Rivera but he is 36 in the last year of a six year $100 Million deal he signed with Houston before the 2007 season. Lee is hitting .290 with five homers and 29 RBIs in 60 games for the Astros this season. Lee’s home run numbers have also declined over the last five years from 32 down to 18 last year and likely hitting 13-15 this year. Lee does have a limited no trade clause and the Dodgers are on that list in the past, he has shown no interest in playing on the West Coast. Lee would not cost much farm wise, new ownership would prefer to take players picking up salaries and not costing them prospects.
